School Art Supplies
College students who take art classes should always seek
ways to maintain their school art supplies. Those who do this are able
to avoid needing to regularly buy new supplies and are able to save
a significant amount of money.
Some of the things that a person who wants to maintain school art supplies
can do include:
• Clean paintbrushes – After using paintbrushes, they should
be cleaned with hot, soapy water. This is true for any paintbrush that
is used to paint acrylics, tempera and watercolors. On the other hand,
if a paintbrush is used to paint with oil-based paints, mineral spirits
are more useful than water.
• Dry the brushes – After the paintbrushes have been cleaned,
these school art supplies should then be patted dry with a towel and
shaken to get rid of the excess water. The brushes should be stored
upright in a jar or a cup. Storing the brushes with the bristles facing
down can ruin the brushes.
• Secure lids – After using paint, it is important to make
sure that all of the lids are closed tightly. By ensuring the lids are
completely closed, a person is able to keep water-based paints from
drying out. By cleaning of the top of paint jars with a wet cloth, a
person can make sure there is not any excess paint on the jar that might
make it difficult to completely close the lid.
A person who takes these steps to maintain school art supplies will
see that he or she is able to save some money.
